What is Electronic Filing?

E-File is the name given to the process of electronic filing of tax returns and related adjustments. Since first introduced, E-File has enjoyed great success, due to the fast turn-around-time (approximately 14 days) and the elimination of the inconvenience of mailing. Canada Revenue Agency, formerly Revenue Canada, has introduced E-File on a staggered basis and it has met such acceptance that more than half the personal tax returns prepared professionally are now filed electronically.
